Steph Littlebird "Solo el Pueblo, Salva al Pueblo" Bandana

$25.00

Artist Statement: "I wanted to include hands in my design as a way to honor day laborers and the often hidden work they perform. Hands can create so many things but we tend to take them for granted. The yellow hands in the center are weaving together the fabric of our lives, as day laborers frequently do. The red hands pointing outward represent the fruits of labor being carried with purpose and dedication. I chose colors that feel powerful and vibrant because I want those who wear my design to feel power and vibrancy too."

Artist Bio: Steph Littlebird is an Indigenous artist and author from the Pacific Northwest. Her work often explores issues related to contemporary Indigenous identity and cultural survivance. Her first children’s book My Powerful Hair (2023) made with NYT bestselling Indigenous author Carole Lindstrom, earned the 2024 National Carter G. Woodson Book Award.
